Job description:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer. The ideal candidate shall possess the knowledge and expertise to initiate and maintain a flow of work for our field and shop personnel by providing excellence in customer service and value in the areas of estimating, project management and value engineering.
Sales responsibilities:

  • Build or maintain relationships with customers by revealing and demonstrating the unique capabilities our company and staff.
  • Work closely with our estimating staff to ensure accurate-true cost estimates on a wide array of

HVAC projects.

  • Identify opportunities for customer savings or improved value by proposing value engineering options for customers.
  • Follow-up on bids negotiate with customers to provide win-win solutions to insure a successful project.

Project management:

  • Review contract scope of work and pricing to ensure compliance with negotiated or specified aspects of the project.
  • Engage equipment vendors and subcontractors and submit all appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with all contract documents.
  • Maintain submittal status logs.
  • Ensure purchasing is completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Gather all documentation and turnover to operations.
  • Participate in project meeting both in house as well as on site as required.
  • Provide constant contact with owner or GC project teams.
  • Provide change order request pricing and implementation as required.
  • Provide monthly invoicing information to accounts payable department and keep track of monthly receivables for the associated projects. Work with customer to ensure project cash flow.

Project Closeout:

  • Review all aspects of the project to ensure contract scopes of work are fully completed.
  • Work with staff to provide all as-built information as well as ensure that warranty information is correct and distributed to all stakeholders.
  • Attend and implement commissioning requirements.
  • Work with Seasonair service teams to ensure that owner is provided with proposal for ongoing maintenance.
  • Maintain records of all punch lists and ensure completion.
  • Work with test and balance companies to ensure report is clean timely and accurate.
  • Work with customer to ensure final payments are received.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in many or all tasks mentioned above as related to commercial and institutional HVAC construction.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills and familiarity with MS office suite as a minimum. Special consideration given to applicants with experience with Autocad or similar products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through email, telephone and in person.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Special consideration given to applicants possessing bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, engineering or business disciplines.
  • Special consideration given to applicants possessing LEED AP or other related certifications.
